Plug in your CmStick into a free USB port on your Mac. The CmStick will lighten several times while the Mac is checking the new device. If you have a CmStick/M this can take a while, depending on the size of the memory and the speed of your USB port up to 30 seconds. After that you see a new drive on your desktop.

Remark: Also CmSticks without memory are shown as an additional device, although you can not store any data on it! All data that are dragged on such a drive are lost when the CM-Sick is plugged out.

4. Step: Start of CodeMeter Runtime Server

Open the finder and change to 'Applications'. Start the CodeMeter User Interface by doubleclicking on 'CodeMeter'. The CodeMeter Runtime Server is automatically started by the CodeMeter User Interface. On this CodeMeter User Interface you can start and stop the CodeMeter Runtime Server and also launch the WebAdmin, a tool for configuration and monitoring CodeMeter.

Remark: The next two steps can be omitted if you received your CmStick directly from a software vendor. In this case the CmStick Password was set by the software vendor. Ask your software vendor for the CmStick Password. Maybe you will find it in the installation manual. Mostly the CmStick Password is set to 'CodeMeter'.

5. Step: Displaying the CmStick Master-Password

Now a dialog is opened automatically. It shows the CmStick Master-Password, which enables you to reset the CmStick Password in case of loss. It may be that this window is covered by other windows. Please minimize the other windows until you see the window with the CmStick Master-Password.

Attention: Please write down the CmStick Master-Password and place it in a safe place. Please note that the CmStick Master-Password is only shown once!

6. Step: Setting the CmStick Password

Now the dialog for setting the CmStick Password is opened. Please set a new password for this CmStick. Please enter the password twice for validation. It may be that this window is covered by other windows. Please minimize the other windows until you see the window with the CmStick Password.

Please ensure that you remember your new CmStick Password in the future. You can change the CmStick Password if you want, but you need to know the current one or the Master-Password.

General Remarks

Please note that in some cases your Mac may not shutdown or boot normally if the CmStick is plugged in. To solve this problem, please plug out the CmStick during shutdown or reboot.
